Many of us Christians believe that the Bible is enough. We have such faith that the Bible is the word of God, that we believe that reading it is enough. According to the opinions of many believers, if you read the King James Bible, go to church every Sunday, and listen to your preacher, everything will turn out all right. You will understand the word of God. Many people don’t even give any thought to the possibility that other Bible books are important.
For many people, this philosophy works. Sometimes, the only Bible book you need is the actual Holy Bible. But this isn’t the case for everyone. The Bible may be the word of God, but not everyone has the ability to understanding God’s word. Sometimes, other Christian books are needed to illuminate the truth of the Bible. The Bible books are an important part of Bible study because they allow you to understand what other Christian commentators are saying. Just because the Bible is perfect, it does not mean that our understanding of it will be. Bible books can help us to stop straying from the way.
Some books of the Bible are easier to understand than others. Every Christian understands the Gospels of Jesus or he is not a real Christian, but what about Leviticus? Without the aid of Bible books filled with commentary, there is no way for a Christian to grasp this book, its meaning to the ancient Hebrews, and its continued importance among modern Christians. The fact is that Bible commentary and Bible study are an important part of Christian education.
The people who need Bible books the most are children. To children, the Bible is just another book, and children are still learning how to understand books. They need Bible books that explain the Bible stories in their own language. Kids need them to be simplified and put in plain speech so that they can understand them. Otherwise, the meaning might go right past them. Although growing up in a church loving family will save most souls, it is no guarantee. The only guarantee is a good Christian education targeted towards the audience. The right Bible books will make sure that all your children are saved. Bible books can even go beyond that. They can give your children a passion for religious learning. They can help them to develop a lifelong love for the Lord. And for us children of God, that is the most important thing!
